Aerial delivery matters

Winch for UAV’s. Enables delivery of payloads securely in hard to reach places. Useful in areas where logistics is difficult. Hard terrain such as construction sites, congested urban settings, forestry or even agricultural commerce for parcel delivery is achievable. A Carbon fibre framed winch, with 50m length reel. Incorporates ground contact, tension release sensor for automatic retraction after deployment. It can be RC controlled for retraction and deployment or Autonomously controlled for flight controllers that have programmable servo outputs by moving PWM values to deploy, then another PWM value to retract. (e.g. Mission Planner).

Grip Release Servo

The servo release grip device takes advantage of Mission Planners ‘Payload Place’ command. During a UAV programmed mission, the UAV flies to the specified location and descends until it senses (using motor output) that the package has reached the ground. The Tronsys Servo Release Grip is then released to unload the package.

ABOUT

Eji Agbasi (BEng, MSc), the founder of Training Online System (Tronsys) is a Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering professional that has worked in the industry of advance manufacturing technologies for over two and a half decades. Starting off in the field of CNC technologies, manufacturing power drill armatures in the mid 90s to university studies in advance manufacturing at Birmingham and Lincoln and to now designing, manufacturing and regulating Medical devices at WHW Plastics Ltd. Yorkshire.

Along side the engineering career is a hobbyist in UAV technology. Whilst hobbying around with autonomous multicopter’s, there was the need of an autonomous UAV winch. Surprisingly there was, at the time, nothing readily available on the market for a UAV winch, at least for now. Hence, TRONSYS, a new start up project to develop and provide UAV tech servicing urban settings and for opportunities in Agriculture and Construction.

The Tronsys UAV winch is the first of many steps for new enterprises in aerial delivery systems. Designed, developed and manufactured in-house, the winch is the first of many steps for new enterprises for UAV start-ups everywhere.
